Arts and crafts have been a part of my family for generations. Being creative is something I have enjoyed since I was a child, and I grew up to share that passion with my own children (who are now craft-loving adults). And now I'm excited to share my love of creating with you! I quit working full-time outside the home in 2007 when I decided to go back to school. I graduated with my BGS in Criminal Justice, Psychology, and Sociology in 2011. While I would've loved to get my master's degree in forensic psychology and linguistics...I didn't want to take on student loan debt, so my life took a different direction. With chronic health issues stemming from a genetic disorder (Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome), working from home was the ideal choice for me. In 2012, I took over managing the office side of the service business my husband had owned and operated since 1992. He retired from being a business owner in 2018. At that time, I started providing transcription services as an independent contractor. I was transcribing for law enforcement agencies when the pandemic hit in 2020 and courts across the country started running limited dockets. With little work available, I used my spare time as an opportunity to draw up plans for something I've dreamed of doing forever: opening my own arts and crafts business! I started CandiMaker in 2021 and have enjoyed expanding my available products, which now include stickers, magnets, sticker sheets, and special occasion announcements. I look forward to the future of my CandiMaker brand, and I hope you will follow my shops to keep up with the latest products!
